as I wrap up my busiest holiday season yet, I wanted to first say ‘thank you’ to all the clients that have trusted me with your moments this year. I simply cannot put into words what it means to me, as a photographer, to be able to do what I love and feel supported by you all. as far as updating my website, I have been terrible! I have all these big plans for a new site, and I think i’ve put off posting here because i’ve been so looking forward to that… whoops! so, until then – here is what I have been working on this fall. how lucky am I to spend my weekends with some of the happiest, most beautiful families in richmond? they’ve literally met me all over the city to shoot. we’ve covered maymont park, midlothian mines park, urban farmhouse coffee shop (amazing shop AND business to anyone who’s never been!), swan lake, jefferson park (a new fav spot!), pony pasture on the james river, my own backyard (this cracks me up, but cheers to friends who are willing to fit in a few minutes with some great light wherever we can get it!), more client’s gorgeous homes than I can count (where we’ve played outside, walked doggies, baked cookies in kitchens, jumped on beds, and tucked in newborns), the jefferson hotel and all around downtown, and my fav : a field at the end of a no outlet road in midlothian that we timed PERFECTLY with the sunset!

well, i clearly haven’t updated my blog in a while – i will have to work on that! i hope you’re following me on social media (www.facebook.com/claremidockphotography and www.instagram.com/claremidockphotography), where i’m much more active!
we spent some amazing moments in erie, pa (my hometown)… like, the time-slows-down moments… the real moments. my parents set up a tent in the backyard (which was complete hilarity in it’s own ways) for my kids, and we had a perfect night together. snacks, hot wheels, games, stories, laughter and light. the kind of light that comes from within. i’ll drive 9 hours in 95* heat with two kids and a big old newf any day, simply to be reminded of roots and love. real, raw, can feel your smile in the dark without seeing you kind of love. cheers to that <3

I love when families invite me into their lives and we document their real. This family lives on the most amazing property, we ran, twirled, hung out with their chickens (LOVE!) and checked for eggs, walked down to their pond, and the girls loved showing me around.
